My brotha house was broken into the 3rd time this year(i know its one of his so called friends). I see its possible to train little small dogs to use litter box. But is it possible to train a pit bull to use a litter box?

No, you housebreak dogs not litter train them. I know of toy breeds that will go on a piddle pad or in a box but that is not going to work with a larger dog and there is no reason to anyway. You train the dog to relieve itself outside in the fenced/secured yard and then let it back in the house. If your brother’s house has been broken into then I suggest he get an alarm system or some other security system and not attempt to rely on a dog that he and you have no real knowledge regarding training. Anyway, if the person that broke in was a ‘friend’ then the dog wouldn’t have been any protection to begin with. He needs better friends, better locks, and an alarm system – not wasting time trying to litter train a pit bull.

do you know how big that litter box would have to be? why the hell would you want to train a dog to go inside. i don’t want to piss any one off by saying this, but i think to a degree dogs aren’t as smart as cats when it comes to this. a cat goes in its litter box, thats the only place it will go.. i don’t know how they know but they do. a dog goes in the box and sees it as a green light to go anywhere in the house. they don’t see the box as a certain area to go, they just see it as a place inside that their owner is allowing them to crap in. even small dogs shouldn’t be litter trained. its not a cat, don’t try and make it become one.

The answer to ALL dog training issues is obedience training. Dog training classes are available through local kennel clubs. They have two additional benefits. First, they will introduce you to people in the community who can help you with all issues regarding puppy care, and second, they provide you and your dog with great opportunities for socialization and new friends. If you have never taken a dog to obedience training,,you have no idea what you are missing. You and your dog will be much happeir for it, and you can be very proud of your dog when he gets his canine good citizen award. There is no better way to solve the problems you are having!

YOu are going to need a BIg litter Box and some patience. But yes i can work. But you have got to clean it out imediatly or they will not use it again. Dogs will not usually soil the same place twice unless they are marking territory.

You probably could but I have to tell you that your ‘brotha’ getting a pit bull to guard his house is like getting a mini poodle and expecting it to kill bear.
Pit Bulls if bred right do not have the instincts to make any kind of decent guard dog. They’ll be more likely to follow a burglar around begging for petting than protect your stuff. If they’re not bred right or abused badly they might be able to be turned aggressive but then they’d be dangerous to anyone, even their owners.
Stick with Brinks for home security, it costs less to maintain than a dog.

I use to show dogs and I can say its a bad idea. Dogs are nothing like cats. If you train a dog to use a litter box inside, they think that its okay to go inside no matter what. If you plan on getting a dog the best way to train them is to take them outside every hour or so for a dog or two, that way they know were to go. Its the best way trust me.

What does one thing have to do with the other?
And why on earth would you want to train a larger animal to use the litter box? Take it out on a leash and let it og outside, where its supposed to go.
