I’m trying to train a German Shepherd to be a good guard dog.

Depends on what kind of training, the location, and who you take them too. You may be looking at 0 or you may be looking at 0. Your best bet would be to look in your phone book and do some calling around, or ask your vet for a recommendation.

My suggestion, let the dog be a pet and get a home security system with either Brinks or ADT.

I know it varied depending on the dog and what you need and how long it takes, but I’m just looking for a ballpark. We just have a small dog who we adopted from a shelter and he never was potty trained and he tends to get seperation anxiety and tear the house up while we’re gone.

I have never heard of Man’s best friend, but I joined a local Obedience Training Club in my area and paid dollars for 8 weeks of training and once we ‘graduated’ from the first class, I joined the club and now only pay for 8 weeks of training. The cost is the same in our club regardless of the breed – I have a labrador retriever.

I`m getting a beagle in a few days, and I want to train it before i do anything. Does anyone know how much it costs to train a dog at Petco? What is the price range for them? I am getting a small 3 month old Beagle, does anyone know how much it costs? PLEASE HELP!

I have had great luck doing it myself, just get a book and consistency is what make a well trained dog.

There are several good books/videos on the market but if this is a first for you then I would suggest basic training classes at least. It is good bonding for you and your puppy in addition to getting a good start on basic training methods that you can expand on later by yourself and is usually 0 or less – check with your local Petsmart
