Hunting Dog Training

Question by branden: Has anybody brought their dog to PetsMart dog training?
Is it worth the money? I mean they’re offering an 8-week program for 9.00 to teach your dog how to control his barking, attitude, his overall behavior, potty training, how to sit, stand, shut-up, etc.

Have you ever done one of these? Thanks.

Question by m2244: I am thinking about doing a little dog training. What can anyone tell me about their experiences?
I have trained my own dogs for hunt tests, which are similar to field trials. Anyway, I have been thinking about placing some ads to see if I can get a few customers for basic obedience. At this time I have not attended any formal training other than some videos and group training sessions. Has anyone tried to do something like this part time? Thanks.

I just started my own business doing dog training. I’ll let you know how things turn out
I’ve never been to a formal training school or anything like that either. I’ve read books, watched videos, TV shows, etc. I’ve trained my own dog. There aren’t any real requirements to become a dog trainer, but you probably do need to check your state laws. But if you work under another company they may have requirements for you to fill.

no way they charge doubel of all teh other trainers in my area. from what I’ve seen I don’t care for their training methods either.

What are some ways you recommend. I have been having a huge issue with my 4 month old yorkie. She has only gone outside maybe twice since we got her but she tends to hold it in. Several times We would take her out for hours and she would hold it in and than go as soon as she goes into the house. Please if anyone knows anything I don’t be kind and share thanks in advance
